In his twelve days staying in MIMOSA Complex, Clark field Pampanga was quite  memorable experienced for him. He felt lonely because he remembered his family in Eastern Samar, specially his two Czars ( children ).  So far, they were five of them  in the Villa, the longing for his family was overcome  by his room mates because they were funny and friendly.

As  days goes by,  there was a  big change. He knew already how to browse and use the Internet. The most important of those activities was blogging using the wordpress.

The only thing that he feared of, is  their might be no connection or access of Internet in their place.  The discussions maybe impose, but the actual activities through the use of Information Communication Technology  may not be happened.

Lastly the person is looking forward that their place wil be connected by an Internet in the coming days…

Philippine dance researchers, however, point either to the “Kigal” and the “Bikal” as the ‘ascendant’ of the Kuratsa. The Kigal (spelled “Quigal” in early Spanish writings on Samar culture and lifeways) is a sort battle-of-sexes couple dance that imitate mating birds. The Kigal is in fact called by another name: Binanug or Kiglun (Kigalun?) that’s according to a 17th century Samarnon dictionary by Jesuit missionary to Samar, Fr. Alcazar. It is interesting that Banug is the Waray word for the Hawk.

The Bikal is rather believed to be the fore runner of the Waray Balitaw because of the strict emphasis on “joust” of impromptu songs interspersed with dancing. The bikal is survived by the Ismaylingay and many versions of this art is preserved by aging “magsiriday” in Samar and to a lesser extent Leyte.

Popular versions of this dance exist in Samar can be classified as the Kuratsa Menor (the usual favorite) and the many versions of the daring Kuratsa Mayor. New genres of Kuratsa evolved as a result of necessity, like-as the name implies- Kuratsa kanan Kadam-an and a very funny Kuratsa nga Pinayungan appropriate for rainy days.

The most intelligible explanation that I have known so far is that Curacha is dance of courtship between a man and a woman which echoes the behavior of the chicken.

Indeed, the explanation above is a reflection of a dance itself. Curacha is already part of the tradition of the Sulatnons such that the same is always part of any gathering. What is peculiar in the dance is that the performers and the town people would literally scatter money which is called `gala` in the dialect.

The dance is a form of recognition to the performers. Hence, visitors are usually given the chance to dance Curacha.

” BABALIKAN KITA PHILIPPINE AIRLINES”

It is a big opportunity for me for being one of the participants of the Ischools campblog at MIMOSA Complex, Clark Fields, Pampanga.  During the day of our trip I was very excited because this is my first time to visit the Province of Pampanga. There were three ( 3 )  ways of  transportation, by water, land and by air. The most unforgettable  one was when we were in the airplane.  I’m quite nervous because we were only two passengers from our place at that time.

The excitement of mine was added when I was in the Philippine Airlines.  I seat near at the window of the said plane then I fastened my seatbelt while watching demonstrations of some flight attendants. When the plane took off I quite  shocked because there is a big difference when we are riding a bus from our province.. Almost an hour we are already at Ninoy Aquino International Airport ( NAIA ), I felt happy because at last we were already in Manila..

Before I leave the said Airport I looked back first and said…. ” I’LL BE BACK..”

” The Passageway to Hidden Beauty

The word Sulat came from the native word `SUSLATAN ` which means passageway. It originated when the creek passing through the mid – portion of the town was made the refuge of the people to avoid the raging waters of the sea.  Thereafter it became a passageway and was then called `SULAT.’

As regards the Filipino word sulat, the same means to write. It does not have any connection however, to the word Sulat which is the name of our town.

White sand, trees, blue waters, coral reefs, fresh air…. These are just among the wonderful things that mother nature offers.

White sand blankets the sea shore. On its extremities lie caves which are picture perfect. If you are of the type who loves fishing and snorkling, this place is definitely for you.

For those who are adventurous, at lowtide, you can walk towards the Pacific Ocean which is just facing the beach. More caves and rock formations can be found at that area. The sight and the sound of the gigantic waves crashing through the corals is a sight to behold and a music to the ears.

If you want to fully enjoy your stay at Luyang, it is suggested that you bring your baon and picnic mats. However, you may wish to rent picnic huts in the local resort.
